PLANET OZ AUSTRALIA WALKABOUT
Tourism Australia and Conde Nast along with the State and Territories hosted media, travel trade and agents to ‘go walkabout’ on Thursday 24 January as they
showcased Australia’s eco-friendly experiences and areas.
The evening, held at the Conde Nast Publications Building in Times Square, featured a special presentation of leading nature and cultural specialists including an address by Tourism Australia’s tourism ambassador, Terri Irwin, and Executive Chairman of Indigenous Tourism Australia, Aiden Ridgeway.
Richard Walley welcomed guests to Planet Oz.
Michelle Gysberts, Vice President of Tourism Australia, and
the Hon John Olsen AO, Consul General.
With over 160 people in attendance, the event aimed to profile Australia as the
premier Eco-Tourism destination by generating discussions and providing a networking opportunity among media and trade. Additionally, the event highlighted the ‘faces’ of successful sustainable practices and tourism product in Australia.
A special 16-page feature on Australia’s World Heritage sites will also be produced in conjunction with Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
