In an unprecedented theatrical event, a diverse array of Australia’s most talented performers were showcased for one night only at the Sydney Presents Australia Plays Broadway Show held on January 22 at the Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Leading Australian producers, Wayne Harrison (Creative Director, City of Sydney) and Ross Mollison (Producer, Slava’s Snowshow, Spiegeltent) produced the unique evening that included the diverse elements of the arts from cabaret to opera, and from symphony to rock.

The star-studded line-up included a special appearance by John Travolta who shared the stage with Bindi Irwin. Tony Award winning choreographer of Happy Feet, Savion Glover, also appeared showing off his tap dancing moves from the Australian directed movie.

The Australian talent included Shannon Noll (2007 MTV Australia VMA Winner for Best Male Artist), Christine Anu (award winning singer), Eskimo Joe (double platinum indie rock group), Richard Walley (Indigenous perfomer), Pei-Jee and Pei-San Ng (twin cellists), Raymond Crowe (Australia’s only unusualist), Caroline O’Connor (Broadway star), David Campbell (award winning cabaret singer), Daniel Sumegi (internationally renowned bass baritone singer), Rachelle Durkin (award-winning soprano opera singer), the Australian Dance Theater and the Pembroke Orchestra.
