Aussie Fashion on Show
In collaboration with Australian Wool Innovation, the Australia Week Committee introduced a select group of Australian fashion designers to the New York fashion industry in a special showroom event from January 23-25.
Over 40 key fashion influencers visited the showroom at the Australian Consulate General including major retailers such as Barneys, Henri Bendel and Dillards; showroom agents; stylists; and press such as Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Marie Claire, InStyle and Womens Wear Daily.

The designers featured in the showroom collections included Cable Melbourne, Gina Kim, George Wu, Mai Loui, Megan Salmon, Saint Augustine Academy, Silence is Golden, Verduci Smith, Vivian Chan Shaw and Zayt.
To be selected as featured participant, designers had to meet several criteria, such as having a well established and export ready brand, a collection that was unique, high quality and a collection which utilised a minimum of 50% Australian Wool.
As a result of the G’Day USA Fashion Showroom, several of the designers have already received significant interest from high-end retailers including Barneys and Searle while others have been featured in US fashion publications.
